I get what you're saying but a guy with paid off equipment will make more than a guy with a high truck payment come on.. Let's think realistically.. You can't really be serious.. If you're trying to justify why you have a truck payment OK that's fine but what you're saying is false.. You live a better quality of life when you don't have a high payment.. You're mind isn't always focused on going and going... And yes any money left over on your mma after your final year can be used towsrds your balance...

The guy with the paid off truck will technically make more money..BUT he has to save for the day the truck breaks down.
That's all I meant..either way we pay..new or used.
One more thing..quality of life is important.
But if you're spending away not saving for the lean times it's not so much quality after all.
From hero to zero in a blink of an eye..all due to a breakdown.Last edited: Feb 21, 2016
T_TRUCKER., drvrtech77 and freightwipper Thank this. -
I'll take my huge flease payment on a new truck over a guy with a paid off truck thats unreliable and breaks down a lot.
How much money is the driver earning while his paid off truck is in the shop while I'm out working?
lol... you can look at this in endlessly different ways.
The idea of a paid off truck is nice but by that point theres usually no warranty left and far bigger risk of truck problems which will cost you and could cost you big time.Outlawd19, T_TRUCKER. and Dogals right foot Thank this. -
The other thing is..if you own a truck(or paying for one) you should be going and going.
Sure you can slow down a bit..but again quality of life.
Run hard and save for the lean times.
I was a company guy for 20 years..came to SNI and the Choice program..leased and learned what I needed to.
Bought my own truck and now I have options due to a once a month payment..so I can cut back a bit.
On the flip side I have almost no debt other than the truck.
House will be paid off in 2 years.
No car payment,no credit card debt.
Life is easy but it took me a while to get here..I'm just trying to show the younger guys and newer guys that you should save and prepare for what running a business will do to you and your family.
That's all..Peace out and Word to your Mother.studbucket, GoGetta07, CaptainDaveG and 6 others Thank this. -

Just wanted to give an update. I have been approved on all fronts for both SFI and SN. If I decide to go with one truck they are holding for me, I can start orientation on March 7th in Green Bay. They are holding a 2015 T680 with the Paccar in it and will be calling me tomorrow to see if that's the truck I want and to also let me know what other trucks they have available. I drove a T700 for a short while and loved it, then drove a 2015 Pete 579 with the paccar motor in it. I loved that truck the most. Always had good fuel mileage with it. Any T680 owners here that can give me some insight on it?
