Hey everyone, having some issues and hoping someone can help a bit. we did a N14 engine swap. Other engine lost the rear bearings. Installed used engine out of 2001 Western Star into an International 9300.
Rolled new bearings and that is fine. They left the original harness on for the engine, and plugged the truck harness into the CPU.

Engine runs like ####, misses, and throws a FMI3 SID 91 code for a knock sensor that does not exist. Also does not recognize the cruise or jakes. Thinking I may need to swap some of the sensors from the engines, and use the original truck wiring harness for this engine. Any thoughts or help greatly appreciated.

The Farmall wiring isnt gonna be compatible with the Porn Star ECM. I would imagine the engine is sputtering and skipping eh??

The only sensors that will cause that trouble screws into the timing gear housing between the air compressor and engine block and also the accelerator pedal.

I did the exact switch as you last year. When I first cranked it up it kicked and farted plus it had a hard spark knock. I ended up putting all the electrical from the blown engine onto the replacement then it ran like a top.

did the replacement engine come with an ecm or did you use the ecm from the failed engine? Although they will fit, they are not necessarily interchangeable. I would not think the problem is in the oem truck harness or cab switch inputs to the ecm. Celect plus inputs from the oem harness are the same regardless of the oem. Sometimes generic code readers can give you crazy codes that don't apply. Try using the diagnostic switch to pull active codes or Insite.

My neighbor swapped an N14 out of a Volvo onto his W9 but used the W9 ecm & wiring harness to make engine run properly.

Thanks everyone. That's what it was. Swapped old ECM and everything was fine. Well almost fine, number 5 injector is bad, but just about there.

    crb Thanks this.
