He should be able to simply request one. Weather or not they do it is up to the higher ups.

He has to make some calls to get the number of the dispatches supervisor and then request a new dispatcher thats gonna give him the miles. Its common pratice.

Tell your hubby that when dispatch starts to trust him, that things might get better. Right now, he is a new driver and just a voice on the phone. Once dispatch starts to trust him, and just as important, he learns to trust dispatch, things may get better. When they trust him, they will give him the better, longer time sensitive freight from their best customers. Hopefully.

Another driver member was working for swift and was sitting for days at a time.he's talking about finding another job.Swift is mega carrier and the more drivers they hire means less miles for him.see if he can to regional or dedicated.at least he'll know pretty much what his checks will be.I would say Otr division is one of the worst .

I think if most OTR drivers took the time to add up and average their last 12 weeks, they'll probably be surprised they ain't running 2,800 miles every week.
We all have 3,000 plus mile weeks but we all also have less than 1,000 mile weeks too.

CPM doesn't mean a thing in this industry if the miles aren't there. I was making $65K being paid .36 cpm.
The simple answer is, your husband should change companies ASAP and quit fighting a losing battle.

Submit some applications to decent companies where the rookie drivers and runnning 2500 - 3000 miles every week.Do some online applications for him then follow with a phone call in a couple days.
Some of these websites aren't up to date so will have "experience required" so ignore that and apply anyway.
