I must first say Quality has many terminals and affiliates and conditions that exist at one may not exist at another . However Quality is VERY strict on compliance . They will not tolerate HOS violations or speeding . Every log is audited and drivers have to sign a review of their logs monthly . Contrary to what many drivers believe you CAN make good money running legally . My terminal is 10 minutes from my house . Most loads are preloaded and dedicated . Most unloading is under 2 hours . Anything beyond that I'm paid detention time . When empty the trailer is returned to the terminal . These policies allow me to earn more in 55 hours than I made working 70 hours with other carriers . With regional , dedicated runs I am never out more than 2 nights at a time . Many runs let the drivers be out only 1 night or be out and back the same day .

I'll back that one. I've got a friend that went to work for them. Over 30 years experience. He is one happy camper.

Are you a company driver or O/O. If company, what kind of equipment do they have?

If you're asking me , I'm a company driver and don't actually work for Q.C. but an affiliate . All our trucks (about 25) are 2-3 year old Macks like the one in my avatar . Like many other fleets ours prebought before the '07's came out . I expect them to be replaced before trucks with the '10 emissions come out . I like my truck better than Freightliners I've driven . It has airride including the front axle . Like I said in the original post they have 130 terminals . Every terminal is like another company in regards to products hauled , equipment types , etc . All equipment is well maintained and must have an equivalent of an annual inspection every 90 days .david07003 Thanks this.

I looked into them but in the course of doing so ran into a website put up by a former driver. On his site he claims Quailty was engaging in some funny business involving kosher tank washes. He actually has quite a bit of documentation on his site. It involved quality faxing him bogus wash tickets to show customers. Like I said he actually posted these tickets so I am inclined to believe him. That steered me from them fast as that sort of dishonesty spells trouble. I think you can google quality and kosher and this guys stuff will come up.

I've seen that . It involved 1 of 130 terminals . There are a few terminals to stay clear of but most of them are pretty good .
-
So each terminal has that much autonomy? I thought that stuff was coming down from on high. Gotta wonder why such a big company would allow that stuff to happen and ruin the whole companies name.
-
Quite a few of the terminals are owned by affiliates . The affiliate owner owns the trucks and the drivers are employed by the affiliate owner , not Quality Carriers . The nonsense with the fake wash slips no doubt was being done by an affiliate without the knowledge of corporate . I just went to the website . The driver never does identify the terminal he was working for . It's strange he can harp on how wrong the phony wash tickets were but he went along with it for over 6 months .

Hanging out at TACWest, I did some looking around...
CFL: Cherry tanks.
Bynum: Cherry tanks.
Oakley: 95% cherry.
Johnsrud: 85% cherry.
QC: About 50% cherry, the rest rusted, dented, beaten to hell, bald tires, busted lights, and on and on.
Anyone who runs that kind of junk isn't even going to get a second look from me.

Quality does have some older equipment but it's well maintained . I have a CVSA sticker on my truck and got one one the trailer I was pulling at the same time . I've never pulled a trailer with a bald tire and a broken light is something simple a driver should have taken care of .
