Just remember, nothing is free. If they're training you or reimbursing you, you probably won't be getting much pay increase during that time period.

I see where you're coming from Cruiser but what if your the type who wants to find that 1 company that preferably is not a "bottom dweller" as they say and stick with them long-term? Of course, it is important to due one's own due diligence first like I have tried to do myself with only an 'A' permit (I.e., talking to other employees about the company culture, pay, benefits and etc.). After about 14 years with one company myself as a Class B driver, last thing that I would want to do is be hopping from company to company if I can avoid it.

I can believe it morpheus!! I got non-stop phone calls from them because I simply inquired on their site about information about the programs that they offer a A permit holder like myself. I simply cannot afford that much money to earn my CDL A! It did not cost me anything for my B. They kept calling, and calling, and calling! :angry4:
Plus, they do not exactly have such rave reviews either from what I have read despite the glossy website that they have. The quality of the driver coming out of training school also depends a lot upon the trainer training him/her. I heard they come to your own home to sit down with you and rave about how you should attend there school, what you supposedly will get out of it, and how wonderful it is. If I'm going to shell out $11K for CDL A training, I would rather sign on with CRST or C.R. England and cross my fingers! :biggrin_25523:

There's also Amaral. I am looking at them now before I commit to Parker's myself. Although, either way, my wallet will probably be a lot lighter no matter which school I end up going to. Shame, shame..

I sold cars for 5 years and never used tactics like they use. I talk to the drivers who come by my store and ask where they got their cdl and when they say NETTTS most say it was only marginally ok

I find it amusing how some try to get out the cheap way and then end up paying the price in the end.

I'm in Illinois and see ads for just that purpose. You rent the truck and a driver. Go practice for a few hour then take your test.

There businesses that do just that around me. Not a school. The guy rides with you to the test facility after you practice a bit, you take your test and go your seperate way. I never went to trucking school. Hell I got paid $24/hr to practice and take the test. And here I hear you guys spending $5-10k on it. Insane. Trucking isn't that complicated. Nothing a little reading and you tubing and American truck simulator couldn't solve. Honest for that kind of money your could buy a gaming PC with steering wheel and three monitors to practice driving with. Pretty realistic backing in that game as well.
