The better the radio performs, the easier it is to ignore bs on the radio for the sake of enjoying long distance up to the minute information. For the majority of people who are only able to hear 5 - 10 miles away I can completely understand why they would shut the radios off if people are arguing or antagonizing since any information they have access to would arrive too late to make any critical decisions regarding navigation.

That's only happened to me one time in the last 12 years and that's because an accident happened 10 miles ahead of me right as I was passing the last exit before the accident.

The greater the distance you can hear the worst it will be as far as receiving BS.

Good point IQ levels will not increase no matter how great of distance your radio can receive.

I don't have CB nor do I have a use for it. I became a truck driver so I don't have to deal with people. If you guys want to be on it fine. But don't act like its a necessity to drive.

Out of curiosity why did you come to a cb radio forum, and there will come a time when you wish you had one. If you dont want to deal with people you should of became a monk and live on a mountain, because last time I checked shippers, receivers, truck stop personal all qualify as people, great attitude let us know how that works out for you in the long run.
