Just read a thread about running 2 logs, and wanted to throw this out there to the guys that do it.

The thing about running bad paper these days is your cell phone/tablet will put you in jail and/or payment restitution for a LONG time if your in a bad/fatal accident...even if it's not your fault.

Had a safety director tell me once...a driver was hit by drunk woman in the tractor tandems. Her lawyer matched his logs to cell towers and he was found guilty and held responsible for the accident. She won over $100k in damages and to this day he still has a deduction taken from his check to PAY HER for the accident she caused.

Can you imagine how long you will go to jail if you're in a fatal accident? Even if it's not your fault?

Society is over policed, and the government is always looking for a fall guy to put in jail. We all know lawyers are money hungry carnivores, and all the DA wants is to convict anyone and everyone they can get their hands on to further their careers....and a log falsifying truck driver is the perfect meat.

So if I was running out law I would be using a trac phone and I'm not totally sure that would save you?

If I only had a nickel for every time I have heard or read that. It is what it is they do what they do. Let them drive their truck, you have all you can handle driving yours. If fate trips tgem smile and go quietly on

Wow didn't expect those kind of responses. One guy can't comprehend, the other says he's heard all before and no one else needs to hear it. Ironic how he doesn't want to hear it, so instead od taking his own advice and leaving it alone, he announces it and proceeds to tell me how much truck I can handle.

What do you mean we cant? The majority of trucks out there are mom and pop operations and still on paper logs. And you think there are no drivers smoking weed out there?

I've never personally known anyone that ran a perfectly leagal paper log. Anyone that's putting in really long hours is probably fudging a little.
