My husband works out of Chicago Rail Yard. They are very nice. My husband works Tuesday-Sat. He is up at 3:00 a.m. and downtown by 5:00 a.m. home between 7:00-9:00 p.m. The truck doesn't go faster than 61 mph. Sometimes he is out all week other times he is home during the week. He started at the end of Nov. 2015. Insurance is about $150.00 for a family of 4. The deductible is $3,650.00. Meds are 20%. United Health Care. We will be working with Optum RX to see if we can get our meds down. Have a lot of meds and some are expensive even at 20%. They were slow the last couple of months. The first year they promise $10,000.00 bonus. We have gotten one bonus. This last paycheck after over $2,000 miles, Taxes (Fed and IL) and Insurance his check was about $650.00. Any idea how he could make over $1,000.00 take home?

Lots of opportunity in Chicagoland once your husband gets some experience under his belt...I don't have a family so I don't know much about the insurance, but he should have no problem locating a company that fits your needs better.

The commute up there sucks, unfortunately.
