Apologies if this has been posted earlier, thought it was interesting; http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2016...nary-truck-tire-inflation-system/?intcmp=hpff

    "
Road gators could soon be on the endangered list. And that’s a good thing.

They’re not animals, of course. They’re those bits of truck tires strewn across America’s highways. They're often the tragic result of tires that weren’t operating at optimal air pressure, which is hard to maintain on a tractor trailer carrying various loads over hundreds or even thousands of miles through large temperature swings."

Don't think it will change much. Now is the time for those tires that have been on the verge of blowing all winter to let loose. Between now and the end of May gators will be everywhere.

I don't think it will take off , trucks already have an air compressor that works while w are sitting still and there are inflation systems that simply plug into that compressor. So why would I want something that only works while I'm rolling down the road ?

if you get a puncture in the middle of nowhere, it will help you to get to the good are. Its especially useful for super singles applications

Not sure how much pressure something like that could produce. Interesting concept though, much less likely to get hung up on stuff like the other drive tire inflation systems which runs an air line to each drive axle out from between the tandems. Hey Michelin, how about this, a tire that has a mechanism built in between the layers that increases low tire pressure, and self seals punctures. Of course, a slow leak would sound like a repeating whoopi cushion.

Michelin is a little late to the party. That system has been around for 2-3 years or more.

What happened to checking your own tire pressure during your pre-trip and inflating as needed?
