Well just finished my first week solo. All I can say " boy I'm beat, but I LOVE IT". On average running about 400 miles and 6-7 activities, and most of my time is in the Los Angeles metro.

I've had a pretty eventful week. I got a call to set up the phone interview and passed it on Thursday. Friday I received a call from Tobyhanna and set up my interview/pretrip/road test/physical for the 24th. Now I'm really starting to get nervous. Anyone here run out of the Tobyhanna PA DC? Any tips on what to expect? I'm guessing they want you to double clutch on your road test and I'm a bit rusty when it comes to that lol. I've been practicing but it can be frustrating when you aren't used to it. Especially on the L.I.E. and Cross Bronx. :D

Just do your pre trip like you did for your CDL. Most failures are due to not checking your DVIR, permits, window wiper/washer, defroster, and pumping your brakes to check tractor protection valve. As for the driving test, just drive like you do everyday. Be sure to get out and look before backing, if you don't it's a automatic fail. Good luck and just relax.

The safety guy there is a pretty good guy even though we call him last chance Lance lol. You don't have to double clutch unless that's your preferred method. You won't run much Long Island as most of the stores are on set runs now.
Since they pay an extra 50.00 for Long Island now all the senior guys want it.
You can get really good miles out of that DC. Nyvet can prob chime in that's his home DC .

Make sure to get under and check that the jaws are locked around the kingpin and check that the trailer wheels roll.
