I have heard on you tube and read on a few sites about female being raped, harassed by males, I also heard about woman trainer giving her trainee a really hard time, The woman trainer not really training her trainee but cussing like a sailor, not explaining anything to the trainee. So what does everyone think? Should a woman be trained by another woman or a man?
Is it better for a woman to get trained by another woman or man?

Get trained by a good trainer. Gender shouldn't be nearly as relevant as patience, knowledge, and a willingness to teach.
A willing student makes all the difference in how well a trainer passes on those skills.FerrissWheel, jamesthewiseone, Oxbow and 15 others Thank this. -
When I trained most female students I was offered I turned down. To easy to get involved in he said - she said.

Neither....
Whoever started this whole "Trainer-Trainee garbage was stupid, Lets coop 2 strangers up together for weeks at a time--- Nothing bad could EVER come out of that
proper training starts with a no-nonsense -in your face instructor and If you cant pass the basic fundamentals of driving a truck.. You Don't Drive- Simple
I think When Im done driving...I'll become a proper instructor-- The Megas will All know my name and Hate my guts For doing it the 'right" wayTripleSix and Cottonmouth85 Thank this. -
As long as both sides are relatively attractive and you're in the truck long enough its pretty much going to get intimate.
Been there, done that, ended in an explosion. Good times.
If you are that worried about it get a female. Such an easy solution you tell your driver manager "i need a female", done. Considering how easy this solution is I think this thread is about attention-seeking.mhyn, 03machwon and Cottonmouth85 Thank this. -

I lied about the name of the company i moved onto and I never brought her to my house.
It definitely didn't end gracefully. Would I do it all over again if I ever go back OTR? Hell yeah.Giuseppe Ventolucci, Keep'em 18roll;ng, Bob Dobalina and 1 other person Thank this. -

I see it like this. If your a woman, in what seems to be a mans world your better off being trained by a woman. Best believe there are a woman or three out here that can get a truck down the road and do it right. I'm sure out of those three women there is a trainer among them. In the military women Drill Instructors trained women recruits. It seemed everytime a woman became part of any team or even temporarily lived in our sleeping area, whether it be in the dirt/sand or in a tent she was always hollering some unwanted sexual harassment or assault.
That being said I'm positive there are male trainers who would treat you with nothing but respect. But go ahead and just take a walk through a truck stop and I bet you become uncomfortable. Its your decision. But for the safety and well being of yourself and the opposing gender/trainer your better off being trained by a woman.
I really hesitated posting this because I don't want people thinking I'm sexist or anything. I meant no negativity by saying any of this, just my honest assessment.
Good luck to you.Oxbow, G13Tomcat and Cottonmouth85 Thank this. -
