What a ridiculous post, he saw his trainer spill multiple times and you have spilled a little on the ground and kicked dirt over it too we all have. We all know there is a difference between the book and the real world and being a rookie and the plant guys telling him it was okay he thought it was fine. You have no right to question his honesty. Did he not take full responsibility for it here?

Give me a copy of your company's handbook and a ride along and I bet I can find something on you too and you know it. Further, I doubt you self report and beg mercy.
He knows the mistake he made, he is down, why kick?

Hang in there, @GolfPro. I've been following your story as well, and it seems like you've gotten pretty good info in your thread; you are very well-versed. I haul asphalt and mixes thereof, and don't deal with shippers loading or unloading me: I do it all myself so it's easier for me to assume my own responsibilities for pre-and post-trips. It sounds like you really got "dumped" on by this company.
I don't feel you were being deceitful, but lack of proper training (or mis-training? a "little spill" is okay?) kinda bungled you up. As posted above, be honest and forthcoming to prospective employers regarding this situation. You may have a hard time getting into a tanker company at this point, unless you go thru "their" rigorous training, (which really wouldn't be a bad idea!)
Look at it this way. The "man upstairs" (whatever your beliefs may be) was possibly saving you from that really tight "hell-run" into New England. @ethos and other vets gave you incredible info there, but as said, someone so new to have to plan and run like that is BS!!!! Yeah the "vets" at Comcar probably all PASSED on that run!! Look at it as fate.
As many others said, you seem like a really upstanding guy, and better things will come. As far as flatbedding, I'm older, I've done it, I occasionally do, but it's not for me. If you think your hands hurt jockeying with these hoses, practice some tarps and chains before you make that quantum leap. They are a highly respected breed; read some posts by @TripleSix . . . they write like a book. He's awesome, but it's not a life for the faint-of-heart (or old guys like me!)
Hopefully @Chinatown will stop by with some future suggestions. Just DON'T give up, man. You've come too far. Things happen for a reason, often unbeknownst to us.
(Yeah, @Birdman803 . . . maybe take them off your shortlist, man.)

My friend with 25 yrs. driving experience was fired for a spill and was hired a couple days later with a food grade tanker company. I had a few spills and was able to hide it. Try Abilene Motor Express.

How bad was the spill? Do you know the circumstances?

    Cement tanker/dry bulk.....would be a starting place.......

I know of a guy that left a trail of product coming in the gate and across the scale at a plant.

He didn't have to call his company the scale guy did.... They unloaded the product and banned that driver from ever setting foot on the property again.

Well, if I'm unemployable in the truck driving industry, I have no future at anything. I spent 18 months trying to find other work with no luck. And I'm telling you the truth about the gasket. It was twisted when I opened the dome, so I had to untwist it and put it back on flush, which I did.

The thing that sucks is I found out the lab guy who told me it was no problem was the guy who sent the e-mail to CTL to complain, so I'm guessing he got in trouble with his higher-ups. I repeat, I AM 100% AT FAULT. I'll never do this again, which is why I find CTL's decision to fire instead of suspend so frustrating. Why throw away a driver who will do a good job, by the book, from this point on? I guess it comes down to trust, and since they don't know me all that well, that I learned my lesson and will never do it again, they have to treat me as if I'm untrustworthy in the future.

^^^ OP, we don't think that is the case, at ALL~!! READ ETHOS' REPLY to that post. Your first company threw you to the wolves, unfortunately. There are bigger and better places; heed the GOOD advice you've been given here!
Even though it was placarded, it WAS NOT hazmat. No harm, no foul, except your crapola trainers not reporting theirs.
I really feel for ya, man. I've been driving for many years, but I've had a few down-times, as well... between companies, and whatnot. Don't beat yourself up, and don't let negative posts bring you down. You see who's in your corner around here; heed those peeps. A friend of mine rolled an OS/OD in loose gravel/mud here in Ohio last week, with all the rain. Tractor was trashed, trailer (and bridge beam) somehow was okay. He didn't even get cited, because the ground was faulty where they had him park. He's newer, too. And he wants to switch to tanks, if he loses his job there.....already has a few leads.
Check out Abilene ASAP, as China said. Don't give up on YOURSELF, man. Yes, you do have a future here. These seasoned vets on this site have many back-up plans for you.

He didn't say how big the spill was. We were supposed to report if even a drop spilled, but none of us did.
