VOLVO STEERING SHAFT RECALL 2.0

Saw your post, thanks, but I just spoke with Volvo, they told me it was not a permanent fix only an interim fix, and that they are still replacing the dual shaft with a single shaft.

 

Ah, that explains ir then.

 

Wow they stepped up for you.

 

Glad they could do that for you. Our Dealership (and others) have pulled the steering shafts (the good ones) off all new, unsold trucks we have in stock, and have been putting them in the in-service affected trucks. Starting this morning, Volvo has engineered a TEMPORARY fix for everyone who didn't get the new shafts. It involves a drilling and new roll pin insertion into that "D" collar. These trucks receiving this temporary fix will indeed need to come back in for a total shaft replacement when parts are available. Not ideal, but at least you will be safe again. I would like to know why Volvos treating you special?
We keep getting the run around. Was at a safe location where we could eat, take a shower and not worry about my truck or trailer which has a ld on it.
They tell us not to drive and have it towed to a dealer on Monday. Everyone that I have talked to I have gotten a different story. They paid for a hotel Monday and Tuesday but will not pay for anymore hotel nights but I can't sleep in the truck.
Had to rent a day cab to take my ld back to the shipper and Volvo said they will not give me a dime for down time,Lost lds or anything. So I ask again what makes you better then any of us others waiting?

 

I say we start a class action suit.

 

Jay we are trying to get drivers together to do just that. We talked to an attorney and he said because of how big Volvo is we would need at least 20 drivers. Please feel free to contact me or post to your Facebook, tweeter whatever it takes.

 

I'm in if Volvo does not make it right, and not just fixing it, lost revenue too and expenses.
