It would... the higher the fuel the more it benefits the slower driver.
The cheaper the fuel the more it benefits the faster driver.

    Lets use examples...

    Driver A $1.50 all miles
    Driver B $1.40 all miles

Driver A, averages 50 MPH, gets 9 MPG and drives 11 hours. 550 miles.
Driver B, averages 60 MPH, gets 7 MPG and drives 11 hours. 660 miles.

    Fuel is $2 a gallon.

    Driver A: 550 x $1.50 = $825
    Fuel costs 550 ÷ 9 MPG x $2 = $122
    Net after fuel = $703

    Driver B: 660 x $1.40 = $924
    Fuel costs 660 ÷ 7 MPG x $2 = $189
    Net after fuel = $735

Thats right.. the driver that got 2 MPGs more and got .10 more per mile earned less for day the than the faster driver.

Now lets say fuel was $4 and fsc on the same loads went up $.20

    Driver A revenue: $935
    Driver B revenue: $1056

    Driver A fuel costs: $244
    Driver B fuel costs: $377

    Net A: $691
    Net B: $679

    Slower driver wins out there.

    That's not really an answer....

If the micro mangers see on the Qualcomm or other electronic driver contol device that you did say 72 in a 65 do they stand up to you. Maybe threaten to pull the lease ...?

I know that bud... Plenty of lease companies still cut the balls off of lease drivers... Wasn't sure brother, no harm

For what it's worth in my recertification.. they brought up my logs.. speeds etc to go over.
They showed that I went 70, 72 at different times but was told it's fine being the speed limit for that road was 70.
As long as you're not wildly breaking the speed limit i dont think Schneider cares.

Dominick253 and Cat sdp Thank this.

You're thinking Fedex Ground, Freight is governed lol.

62mph guys I hate seeing pass my pumpkin truck: Hogan and Roehl. 9 times out of 10 they put their blinker on when they're two inches past my bumper!! Swifties surprisingly aren't so bad about it.

Crete Carrier, ABF, Old Dominion, etc leave a good amount of room usually.
