E6 300 OR 350 are good motors also you can find a mack with another motor my 1978 came factory with a cummins 400 and a 13 speed fuller.
Any truck of that vintage that is set up as a dump is going to be similar in hp no matter the manufacture. 400 to 450 hpMy Girlz Thanks this. -
I have ran my tri axle 92 pete with a 3406b day night that thing runs better than all i know of.Its really clean no smoke ever but then CARB feels its time to destroy the truck market in CA.now theres a bunch of NEW regen dump trucks out there all breaking down.Buy a late 90's pete.Dont believe the mack hype .Come to cali buy my 92 or find one here. Its a dam shame. They are cheap as hell out here now

Axle, spent $1200 on shipping. -
Service/Parts is my #1 for a Hauling Truck.
We already talked about the new Macks and all their BS but besides that the small Local Mack Dealer i have here has a terrible service department. You can kiss your truck goodbye for 2-4 weeks just for some kid to call and talk about something the Diagnostic told him that has NOTHING to do with why you brought it in hahahahahaha God Help Um.
Thats why im learning a bit about these Mechanical 90's Macks
Ect.. If it turns out the engines are tuff as the frame Im in. I also saw a 1995 Mack CH Model I think with a Cat B or E cant remember like you mentioned.Camelclutch Thanks this. -
Bs that e6 or e7 can't do 100k on a daily basis. You know how many 237's pulled heavy back in the day, think off road logging and the Australians with their trains, and the majority had a 5 speed or a 6 lo. Ever see a cat running a 5 speed pulling 100k plus? The weak point of the e6 was cracking the last 2 holes from lugging it too much and the low rpm tq vibrating it apart
E7 is almost the same as the e6 but with cross bolted mains if im remembering right and a 1/2in longer stroke. Your right about the prices holding. My dad just got a 93 ch600 mid roof, 350 with 800k and paid 22k. Basically mint for its age. Has mack air ride and she rides better than the new shakers.
To pass your road test you should have to do it in a 5 speed maxidyne, by by to all the wheel holders.
Vmac with injection pump was a bullet proof motor made until 97 i think. Didn't like the etech and even worse the egr ac models. Even the e6's are a dime a dozen still. A 300+ set up by a good mack man pissed off a lot of the cat and cummins guys way back whenMy Girlz Thanks this. -
Mack and cat you can't go wrong. Both have die hard followings. I grew up around all macks with my pops and his pops besides one red headed step child that ran like a raped ape but only lasted 300k between rebuilds. Im looking at a 1990 ch condo with the 400 with only 330k original miles. I'd pay top dollar for that. In a lot of mack circles that 400 was a beast, out pulled his etech 460 with the same spec rears
My Girlz Thanks this. -

Im not familure with the older mechanical Mack Engines is my problem. I have a Granite now and thank god I only put 10,000mi a season on it Paving because as it is I got $22,000 into a Engine not counting everything else with only 200,000 miles on it now. Thats some BS! Another problem is that Im not a mechanic. I do my Gen Maintenance but thats all... So im trying to get info about other Engines besides the Cat 3406 that are known to run the million miles. I know what I know and thats it... I Need some more insite.
