Hmmm, this thread is interesting. Wil-Trans is in MO as well, work closely with Prime. So, as a follow up question, if you have a CDL A from another state; and would need to train out there in MO, would you need to transfer your license to MO?

If you already have a cdl then no you wouldn't have to transfer it . The reason the guys with a permit have to get a missouri permit is because they will be testing for their cdl in missouri

I believe you that in Illinois it might be 30 questions. In Connecticut it is only 10. It used to be 20 years ago. Illinois had all kinds of issues with fraudulent CDLs being handed out and things got tougher over there at some point. Anyone that has a TSA background check done received a letter stating they were cleared or not. It is a federal background check. Why would anyone volunteer to pay more money to be finger printed twice? Just bring the letter with you to the next state you retest at.

I have to agree. So, if you're from Ohio, get a Ohio permit and want to go to Prime, you have to start the process all over again, get a Misery permit, and a Misery Class A, and the get the Misery license changed over to an Ohio license? Ummm, no. I'd find an Ohio company.

As far as being chewed up and spit out, you will find that there are quite a few jumping into the business that have never had to do anything tough in their entire lives. For some, the hardest part of their day is wiping their arse after a dump.

Sure until you start school. Then you have to have that state's permit. I'm pretty sure you can't drive out of state on a permit.

There are states that do not allow transfers and you would have to retake all of the tests again including the road tests. I live in MA and this one state that does not transfer unless you have held the license for 2 years.

Yes, it seems to be state specific, something every person is gonna have to talk to the school they plan on atending or the DMV for that state and your state of residence. It isnt driving in another state with a permit that is the problem, but obtaining the cdl and then transfering it to other states.
