I worked the dock at yellow before the merger with roadway...

Not sure if it has changed or not but drivers didn't work the dock at all...

@skinnytrucker works for them and could help answer any questions you have

NEMF has a terminal in Cleveland, you don't work the dock (we didn't at least) and you always worked M-F days. Weekends were optional and P&D and Linehaul were separated so whichever one you do, you don't have to worry about doing the other one. That's from Day 1. We weren't Teamsters, we were IAM but still had a good deal. OT after 8, Pension, cheap ins etc. I really liked it there but found a gig where I made up my own start time and made the same money. Even having no seniority though our "on call" wasn't really on call. We worked everyday, the only variable was what time to show up which was usually 7-10. It wasn't all over the place like YRC. When I interview at YRC I got all the same stuff you did. Told the guy I'd need at least $60/hr to destroy my life to that level. I'd show up at that NEMF terminal and see whats going on over there. Their website is never up to date so I'd call or just show up. They told me they weren't hiring so I filled out an app and had a call within a week.

    chrism1367 and ajohnson Thank this.

Wow after reading all this comments , I'm glad I'm with the "lesser" partner, which is Reddaway.

OT after 8, free health insurance and minimum of 8 to 10 hours everyday.

    chrism1367 Thanks this.

Is that Yrc or nemf? Yrc ad says must be on call 24/7, that's a deal breaker for me
