Bad day pulling my end dump

Dang sorry that happened.

 

I wonder if yours left all the wheels on the ground, or if the front tandems go up..

Back when I first hired on with the Highway department they had us hauling rock with 10 wheelers. I hadn't done really any dump trucking before back then so I was learning how to spread rock on roads for the grader. So as I was bringing a load in for a west to east pass I passed one of our other trucks coming out and noticed the bed was still in the air. Well it was one of the most senior operators there so I thought well he knows what he is doing. Turns out he somehow didn't realize it was still up and when he got back to the paved highway he kept going. He took out the signal lights and one pole at the next intersection.. The county took care of it but it was embarrassing for him. I learned that was why there was a county radio in the truck for and now I holler when I see something like that... BTW... It was that cornbinder dump in my picture there that he was driving.. Didn't hurt it a bit.

 

I never laid one over the 4 years I pulled one. I helped shovel out 4 all had paper sludge on them and all at the same land fill. All 4 cases they had just snapped the draft arms as they went over. All were Aluma-wreck trailers. Sorry that happened.
