Unless you have a contract with a direct shipper you're going to always have the middleman pulling the scam... I don't care what company you're with or what Brokers you deal with that is going to happen and now you just have to figure out which one is going to screw you the least

I got what you were saying. No negative debt (debt that you can't easily pay off).

I've picked up loads that said 4500 on the bol yet the psi gauge read 55psi and 26k on the trailer. I don't care as long as it's legal but why even put the weight of its total be?

It is good that they at least attempt to get the correct weight on heavy loads. It prevents people like me from even attempting to pick up some of the loads.

45k is about the limit for me to pursue, unless it pays well, then I will go ahead and push it to 45,500 (my legal limit). Beyond that is a no go for me unless it really pays good and I'm not concerned about a scale along the way.

    And go where?
    It's a scam everywhere haha.
Only way to avoid it to to run under your own authority and get your own direct customers, NO middle men.

It could be anything, no way to know for sure unless you find out from the customer what they're paying.

Here's a little something that goes along with this topic:

My lurking lead me to something a little interesting...

Schenider logistics advertises their brokers being "experts in reefer" among other things.
However unless I'm blind I've never seen orange reefer Schneider trailers.
That tells me the Schneider brokers want those reefer loads too even though Schenider National doesn't do reefer.
In other words part of their job is to get reefer loads only to find somebody else to do the loads for cheaper than they got it for lol.

If you are ever able to look at somebody's ITS account, or any other load board, you might be surprised at how much freight the mega carriers broker out.

And it really hurts to pick up one of multiple loads, and talk to an independent who is pulling the same load you are, brokered through Schneider, and he is making a huge amount more than you are. It's almost depressing, lol.
