It was the very first load which paid $ 460 I had fueled for 80 so that would be $ 380 so I should've gotten $190 but all of a sudden it's 50/50 after all the expenses like escrow for repairs bob tail insurance road tax and all that good stuff so she paid 115 I just wanted to know how other guys get paid if they get told 50/50 after fuel costs is it normal to pay half of all the expenses ????

What are those etc etcs ? Can they be company commission that the o/o leased on to? Maybe plus trailer rent? Or else?

Horrible deal. Tell her you want a percentage of the gross or walk away. Who's dispatching the loads? If it's forced dispatch then what she's doing is illegal 1099

Depends on what you agreed to when you signed up to drive her truck. Did you expect to become a business partner with someone who controls your mode of operation? Did you want to be a company driver? There is nothing illegal about going into business with someone, however, civil and criminal liabilities can exist when one party gets deceived or ripped off in the process. When an unequal distribution of wealth or power and influence are used to create a business operating agreement often the "smaller" or less equal party can be manipulated to perform functions for the company that other likewise situated business partners would not perform.

Don't get screwed around by someone who isn't willing to protect your interests. Business partners should be interested and motivated to see you succeed because they succeed when you succeed. If your partner is not willing to be a true partner, find someone who is.

Sounds like a perfect way to screw you out of $.
You should be paid a % of the rate.
I pay my driver 30% of base rate, simple as that.
If load pays $400 he gets $120
And if you can't make a decent dollar after all that your rates are too cheap.

    cnsper and Jonkie Thank this.

Our company drivers get 25 % of the gross, so $115 would be exactly right.

The agreement was 50/50 after fuel cost !!!! Now I am paying half of all expenses she has to pay except the truck payment and fuel. The reason I'm asking is at the end of the year she will have all the tax write offs and I won't even so I paid half of the expenses . I think this is a bad deal the dispatch is thru a company her truck is leased to
