I'm currently averaging $1.95 /mi +/- a penny on 2100 - 2400 mi a week. So if I could do $2.10 with my own #s, (good luck with that starting out), that would be an additional $15k a yr in revenue to my business.

Subtract from that 15k the cost of a trailer and its maintenance, insurance, additional book keeping, factoring, etc...

Its just doesn't add up to more profit, which is what we're here for. Now I could be way off base with the way I see it, but I think if there was that much additional $ in running under your own authority, most of us would be there already.

As far as what Schneider makes off my truck, I can't say I don't care, we'd all like a bigger piece of the pie. But what matters most is what I make off of my truck.

I hereby declare the "The Freedom of rates Act"...

    Rule 1:
All rates paid by the shipper must be made available to be seen by the drivers.
No more brokers hiding what they got.
No more carriers brokering loads to themselves at whatever rate they want to then turn around and sell it to their drivers on percentage.

    Rule 2:
All rates MUST be posted on load boards along with the loads.

    Rule 3:
All brokers are only allowed to take a maximum of 10% of the rate they get from the shipper.

We have a "truck driver shortage", not a "freight broker shortage". Reason being drivers are getting shafted and earning peanuts.
It's the driver pay shortage the "Freedom of rates act" will combat.

Those who violate these laws shall be fined 1000 pee bottles and sentenced to 5 years in a Freightshaker Crapcadia.

I just said i mainly average in the $1.70s
Someone else posted in the $1.90s
Few Northeast guys i know average in the $1.90s.

    Is that cheap?
Name a place i can pick my loads and do above $2 consistently and I'll go there.
I've done my research... i havent found anyplace i could earn a lot more.
Show me and I'll leave, more freight for you then lol.

So you're saying that you can go somewhere else with higher rates, better amenities than SNI, and then bring only your power unit, nothing else?

Can I ask why you're still at SNI?

I'm still here for convenience... Like my post said it's good for what it's good for.. And @freightwipper you stay out all the time that's not reality for most we have families.. But hey I'll let you guys think the van rates here are the best in the business.. I'd feel better if you guys were truthful and said it works for you guys but don't sale av story that the rates here are the highest around smh
