I'm using a RM 730 and it's very solid. There's times when I blow the doors off a truck on the interstate and run into the same truck next to me at a light 30miles away (obviously he knew the better route) and it makes me wanna scream but definitely a good choice. Driving for over four years now..... NEVER used a atlas except to locate where scales are. My first GPS was a WorldNav
.. Man we had some good times going thru Residential communities and truck restricted roads. I would invest in the new 7inch Tablet with Dash Cam

I currently use the CoPilot Truckers GPS App on my iPhone but then it has a few limitations so I do use it in conjunction with Apple Maps, Truckers Path Pro, and a few other Apps.

I am currently planning on getting a refurbished RM530 to use for the navigation piece which will free up my iPhone.

adding my 2 cents on the Garmin Dezl, My 760 does all that the previous posters commented on plus the ELD option ( additional equipment needed to make it fully compliant). I keep a Rand MacNally Atlas around to verify areas in the northeast which I don't get to often. What I like most about the 760 is it's just the right size for windshield or dash mounting.

Now snowwy, I am fairly certain we have discussed this issue before but since you asked I will provide a few more details of limitations I mentioned above.

1.) POI... Like finding the next Pilot/Loves or Rest Area Parking, etc 240 miles out, or even closer, is extremely awkward if not impossible thus the required use of Truckers Path Pro.

2.) Speed Limit... Missing like half the time and the half that does appear seems to be wrong a third of that time... Not county dirt roads... I'm talking I-95, I-40, etc.

3.) User Interface... Seems to be a direct port from a PC Desktop program... So many things could be done to make it more mobile friendly... See the user interface from the Truckers Path App and compare.

4.) Local Addresses.... Too often it doesn't take me to the right local address... Either it only gives me an option to get me to a different address that is close to where I'm going or it has the right address in the wrong place... Thus the need for using Apple Maps to verify where I am going.

5.) No option for Satellite View... So again, must pop over to Apple Maps to see this information. Truckers Path Pro will allow satellite view so again their User Interface is better in this matter.

6.) did I mention it tried to route a 13'6" truck under a 13'2" bridge in St. Louis? Fun!!!

7.) ok... That's enough for this round...

Now you will say "there are apps for those issues" which there are... But then you are hopping in and out of a $150 App which should not be the case. And when those other "free" apps have better User Experience and options as compared to said $150 App... That's sad if not plain embarrassing.

I still use CoPilot and it does have some nice features like being on both my iPhone and iPad, even if info doesn't sync between the two like so many apps do now days, and it's cheaper than a stand alone GPS which would always be in my truck and not my pocket.

    So, there you go snowwy...
Just my two cents worth...

Really. Your going to complain about features on a $150 app..Next time spend $400 and buy a rand. And hang out in the support thread. SMH

I'm not making this personal. Just saying. There's a reason its cheaper. It wasn't designed for bells and whistles or it would cost as much as bells ans whistles.

No need to tell him to "hang out" in the support thread.

At least one is here for the drivers....

    Simple... Yes... Really.

We are not talking about a $200-$300 RM 530 which includes hardware...

We are talking about a $150 App that promotes to offer certain features... If RM offered certain features and didn't do a very good job of providing said feature, I would complain about them too.

As I have told you before, when I have to leave a $150 App to open multiple FREE apps for data that is supposed to be included in the $150 App... Then someone needs to put a bit of coding work into their App...

Just my two cents worth... Sorry you disagree.
