2nd notch. You want to close that gap between the back of your truck and the trailer as much as possible.

I take TX 114 - TX 183 - I-35 E - I-30 , US 80. Yes that takes you right downtown but depending on the time of day, it's shorter and you can zip right thru.
I avoid US 49 as it is one hilly-### road. I like taking I-20 all the way to Alabama and take the 1st exit in Alabama and run US 80 into Montgomery. From there I hop on I-65 a few miles to I-85 to exit 62 (US 280). Run that to US 82 to Tifton and catch I-75.
It's a few miles further bit my fuel economy is almost 9 MPG.
Distance from city to city:
My way - 1503
Taking US 49 - 1463
Taking I-49 - 1504
I go this way so I can visit my best friend in Georgia -
There is all that construction in downtown Dallas lately. So, I just avoid it whenever possible.

I like using the I-49 route, but that is so I can gorge myself on Cajun food in south Louisiana. You ain't getting that along the 20.
But, that's one thing I like over is the freedom to chose your route. Within reason of course. -
Did anyone else get 4 free TirePasd credits on their Loves card? Just noticed mine went from 3 credits to 7 credits.
