30k as a company driver sucks.
There's good company jobs out there...
If I stayed at Crete I would have earned about $55- $60k a year doing OTR.
Not that Crete was wonderful but at least I made money there.
If it weren't for this program I'd be doing LTL.
$70- $80kish a year with lots of benefits are no problem at a good LTL carrier without having to stay out weeks at a time.
Many people think being they pick their loads they can go wherever they want and go home every few days and still make good money, it doesn't work that way here. You having to be willing to do what you wouldnt enjoying doing to make money here, ain't that right @T_TRUCKER.
Just a little fyi for the dreamers reading.

Carrier decided to move that operation in Indy to Mexico. Thank the highest corporate tax rate in the world for the loss of that account.

Last four or five months, I've had remarkably few trailer issues, and nothing serious. The worst thing I've encountered are trailers that haven't been truly swept out (just having had the easily visable debris removed) seemingly since they were new. I'm amazed some of them have been loaded by our customers.

For me it seems to runs in streaks.
All smooth sailing for a few weeks or even months them bam it happens! Every preloaded trailer i pick up for a week or so is a pos 9 series thats falling apart. When i finish one and am feeling good I into next customer and see they have all new empty trailers around and the one trailer they picked to load for me... yup pos 9 series rusted out with lights dangling.

Yeah, you got that right. the way I see it is either do that, or run as many miles as you can elsewhere, because the rates being so crappy. How are things looking outside the northeast? I haven't seen the light for awhile, I've been stuck in this black hole they call PA lol. Any positive for rates?
