You could walk into any truck stop and purchase a wilson 5000 with 10 inch shaft and get the same performance, no gaudy open coil whistling dixie in the wind, no shipping costs, no waiting for ups, and all the truck stops sell replacement whips if you ever need one. I needed a darn blow torch to get the whip out of my 10k, I guess it was corroded in the shaft. Didnt you purchase a siro attenna? They are rated pretty good, you must of done some research before you spent $ 70.00 on it, just trying to help but obviously you have blinders on and are only taking the advice of the " expert". Sorry to be so sarcastic but I wouldnt give him one red cent of my business.
Extended shaft for Wilson 2000

That's kind of funny to me because just 10 days ago you were posting about how eager you were to get a radio tuned by him. Then when I got my foot in the door your tune changed dramatically. I'm sorry that you haven't been able to get through to him but drastically reversing your opinion, bashing the dude and trying to talk me out of taking advantage of his services is a pretty petty reaction to the situation IMHO.

Havnt even tried to get in touch with him I dont do the facebook thing. I woundnt mind having a radio tuned by him but its not worth the effort. Im glad you got in touch with him and are getting your radio tuned by him, its an expensive radio, but all Im saying is dont put all your eggs in one basket and keep posting mark said this mark said that, sounds to me like you dont have any use for the forum you can just communicate with Mark on his facebook for all your radio questions. It wasnt too long ago you got your feathers all ruffled when some individuals gave some honest critiques of Bells Cb and the word troll was even tossed around. Word of advice get some thick skin and enjoy your $ 700.00 project when its all said and done.

It started out as a $26 Chinese copy of the Van Ordt Audio King which I got at a Pilot truck stop and I added a 48 inch stainless steel shaft underneath it.

I never ran those Francis antennas but also heard how great they work and no need for doing the SWR on them. But until recently that I learned on here, they are another Barjunk product. I'm glad I still have all the old school stuff, Turner 56's, Wilson 1000, Galaxy Pluto, and Galaxy 44 DX44V.rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
I have this mag mount Wilson 1000 with this attachment between the coil and magnet. What it's purpose/benefits from it ?

I'm by no means an expert but it looks like it's supposed to act as a ground plane maybe?
