Anyone have a good alt. route for going from Santa Maria, Ca to Denver, Co that doesn't require going over Vail. Load is going to heavy and don't want to crawl up to 11,000 ft.
Running with JCT, Part Deux

I run 15 to 80 mostly so I can stop at my house in Vegas and say hey to my wife and pet my dogs lol.

@MachoCyclone .. if I'm not mistaken for my calculations in the past it's only a 25 mile difference going up to 80 across vs 70 and that's 25 miles longer I believe going up to 80 but when you consider the transit Time Savings going to cross 80 you'll come out ahead

I made the trek across Vail before and it was a beautiful drive, but a climb I rather not repeat.
Checked the forecast for 80 across Wyoming. Not looking to bad. Sunny weather, mild temps, and west winds for a tail wind. -
There's the forecast for Elk Mountain for this week if this gives you any idea what it's supposed to be likeMachoCyclone Thanks this. -
Yep. I have Evanston, Rawlins, Laramie, Elk Mountain, and Cheyenne as saved locations on my weather app. Also have some other key locations saved also.
The saved points show up on the weather map as points I can click to get a quick overview of that location. -
Take 40 into Vernal and Craig it's the absolute shortest route you noobs
