I am thinking of using BigRoad elog app and ditching the paper log book.
It looks great but I am worried about getting a roadside inspection and an officer who then wants printed copies.
please chime in if you use an app such as this

We are using KeepTrukin eLogs and carry onboard laser printer. If you really hate the paper logs then you should carry onboard printer like this one HP Officejet 100 Wireless Inkjet Printer (CN551A#B1H) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004TGHIS8/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_UERaxbG6ZEDNG
You may also email or fax your eLogs to the inspector from within the app but there's no guarantee that you will have data network where you will be inspected.

I didn't know you could get battery powered printers like that. And it looks like you can charge it using a car charger (12volt). That makes all the deference in the world.
Yes, I can see this being a good set up. THX

I love the big road app. I've been using it for a year now. I have an epson all-in-one inkjet that cost me $49 new at office depot. I have it mounted to a shelf. I power it off my inverter and use it with my phone and laptop. I can print the logs for inspection from my phone to the printer very fast. This way the dot doesn't get too pissed off waiting onme! Very user friendly, easy to use...and you can edit it!

    RustyNuts Thanks this.

Been using KeepTruckin' for about 3 weeks now. So far I like it. Only PITA thing is I'm using it on an iphone which has a tiny screen when compared to my personal phone (Samsung Galaxy).

I started using the big road app. I love it. Should have done this long ago.
I thin I may upgrade and get the IFTA reporting too.
Do any of you use an app such as this to keep track of state miles for IFTA?

Having a printer/scanner in the truck is a godsend! I have an hp that I power with a small inverter. They have a decent app where I can easily print anything off of my phone. Its come in handy numerous times.

Do you manually input the milage into spreadsheet or do you download the actual csv/xls file by USB connection. If you are downloading it via USB connection do you mind sharing the folder name/location or steps on how to download the file thru gps. We have Rand McNally TND Tablet but we are unable to locate the excel file any where.
