PEOPLE BEWARE OF SWIFT TRAILER WITH 2 LETHAL DRIVERS ASSAULTING DRIVERS-SWIFT TAKES "NO" RESPONSIBIL

Dear Mr. Moyes,

I am Not Only Dismayed & Appalled, I am NOW Deeply Saddened at the LACK of Concern that SWIFT has Shown in Reference to the Incident in my earlier letter dated March 23rd, 2016. (in case You may have Misplaced that letter I have enclosed a Copy for you).

I Had a BRIEF glimmer of Respect for SWIFT when Your Company Contacted Ms. Newton so quickly after receiving that first letter. However I Have LOST ALL RESPECT for SWIFT once Ms. xxxxx informed me that SWIFT contacted her in regards to the incident. Ms. Newton stated that EVEN though SWIFT was ALL OVER that Trailer...it was NOT their Trailer anymore ...that SWIFT had SOLD it therefore there was NOTHING they could do for her or this incident.

REALLY...Are YOU SERIOUS...Since When DOES a Company SELL a Piece of Equipment and Allow THEIR Company Name to be LEFT ON IT when they are STILL in Business...TECHNICALLY with YOUR NAME STILL ROLLING on THAT TRAILER…”YOU SWIFT” are STILL BEING REPRESENTED...THEREFORE...YOU SWIFT...SHOULD BE HELD Accountable to If NOTHING Else Be MORE Proactive in Getting THESE LETHAL Driver’s OFF the Road as Well as Take SOME RESPONSIBILITY and FIX the DAMAGE Caused to Ms. Xxxxxx Vehicle!

POLITICS, GREED, LACK of Responsibility, and POOR SAFETY PRACTICES By the TRUCKING COMPANIES Such as THESE YOUR Company are Exhibiting Now, that Made me Choose to retire from Trucking...I Did NOT want to BE APART of such an Epidemic.

So I Am Forwarding My FIRST Letter, Along with This Letter and a Cover Letter to the cc: People and ANYONE Else I Can...I may NOT be a BIG Trucking Company...But I Do KNOW that I have the ability to TRY to put FIND out WHOM was driving that TRUCK & TRAILER...it may be harder NOW that so much time has went by...but EVEN “IF” you did Sell it as YOU stated...YOU should have records showing WHOM YOU sold it too...YOU could have made efforts in Catching these Driver’s and Helping Ms. Newton...SHAME ON YOU SWIFT...SHAME ON YOU!!!

As a retired Owner Operator in the Trucking Industry, I was So SHOCKED & APPALLED over an Incident Involving 2 of your SWIFT Driver’s... I felt Compelled to contact YOU. This is a SERIOUS matter as I would Hope that once you read through this letter you too will find it to be SHOCKING as well as DISTURBING.


On March 22nd, at approximately 6:00 pm, a Friend of Mine, her Mother and her baby girl were headed EastBound on I-10 between Mile Marker’s 45 & 56 in Northwest FL. They were traveling behind a FED-EX Driver in a Penske Boxed type truck in the SLOW Lane….In the Fast LEFT Lane going “80”mph was a Dark Red Swift Truck with a SWIFT Trailer. The SWIFT Truck drove up beside the FedEx guy...The SWIFT Passenger Opened his window...Leaned out the window and threw a rock at the FED-EX truck’s window..which busted it and caused fragments of glass to fly all over my friends car and Interstate almost causing BOTH the FED-EX Driver and My Friend Melissa Newton to WRECK...Ms. Xxxxx & her Mother & her 3 yr old, Were in FEAR OF THEIR LIVES!!!

She Immediately Called the Florida State Trooper’s to report this as she was still driving...Her Mother took Pictures of the Truck and Lic# of the Trailer which is 31870W Nevada, as the truck was still going 80 mph in a Posted 70 mph zone of I-10 headed towards Tallahassee when Xxxx exited at exit 56. The FED-EX Driver was Also on the line with the State trooper’s. She was NOT sure if the Trooper’s ever Caught up with that Driver.

Once Home and OBVIOUSLY STILL VERY SHOOK UP...Xxxx & her Mother Found Small pieces of Paint and chips out of her front windshield and paint on car from where the Shattered Glass from the FED-EX Truck Flew Back and Hit Her Windshield. Xxxx, Her Mother & Baby girl are VERY TRAUMATIZED by this EVENT...I DO NOT BLAME THEM...this Makes ME SICK to My STOMACH!!! This is What gives the TRUCKING Industry a BAD NAME!

When I read about this Horrific Ordeal on her Facebook Page it Not Only Struck a Cord as a commuter, but as a Fellow Ex-Driver. I am Embarrassed to even say I was a Driver Now! Is this what Trucking has come to...Has the Value on Safety and Human Lives become so disposable and non existent?

I know that Trailer has probably already been dropped and reassigned a few times by now...HOWEVER...YOU have qualcomm's, Satellites, tracking devices and more than likely computerized Logs now...So should YOU Look at WHOM had that Trailer March 22nd, 2016 heading Eastbound I-10 between Mile Marker’s 45 & 56 between 6:00-6:30pm in FL. I’m SURE You can figure it out...You might even get lucky and find out there is a Police report been made by the FED-EX Driver. My Friend was too AFRAID to pursue being her baby girl was in the car with her.

I would HOPE that this is NOT the norm for SWIFT and that you will investigate further into this matter. Mr. Moyes I would also hope that with what has happened YOU Sir, would put yourself in the shoes of these individuals that were Brutally Attacked, Victimized and Bullied By an 18 Wheeler Truck & Trailer with SWIFT written ALL OVER IT,with 2 Individuals inside at the Wheel and Control’s that Represent none other than “SWIFT” Transportation!!! How Would YOU Feel? What would be the FIRST thing that comes to YOUR mind the Next time YOU are Driving and YOU come up Next to a Big Truck...ESPECIALLY a “SWIFT” Truck...Would YOU FEEL SAFE...Would YOU Feel as if YOU could TRUST that the TRUCK will Be a SAFE Driver?

I am Certain You will want to get further details on this matter and talk to Ms. Xxxxx in regards to this matter for yourself..I am enclosing her phone number, . I would Also Hope that as a Gesture of Good Faith for what has happened to Xxxxxx, her Mother & baby girl...You will Also FIX the DAMAGES Caused to her vehicle from this incident and reassure her that this is NOT the Norm in trucking behaviors. I will keep in contact with Xxxxx to hear if she hears from YOU Mr. Moyes, by Monday March 28th, 2016 at 6:00pm PST. Should She NOT hear From You I will Forward This Letter to the cc: in which I have enclosed.

I am enclosing a Letter I Wrote to Swift Transportation on March 23, 2016. As a Former Over the Road Truck Driver the Incident Was Very Alarming to me, therefore I felt the need to contact Swift right away! However...I am DEEPLY Saddened and ALARMED at the Final outcome they Left this at! I feel that As LONG as the 2 Driver’s Behind the Wheel of this Tractor Trailer are on OUR Interstates…”WE ARE ALL IN DANGER” At the Point these 2 driver’s became aggressive to the point of Driving wreckless at 10 mph over posted speed limit and then THROWING a Rock at another Driver Busting OUT the WINDOW CAUSING THAT DRIVER “AND” THE OTHER DRIVER AND HER FAMILY TO NEARLY CRASH...They WERE NO LONGER JUST Hauling Freight...they BECAME A ROLLING 80K POUND LETHAL WEAPON...THEY BECAME TERRORISTS...ATTEMPTED MURDERS..THAT'S HOW I FEEL and after reading the First Letter dated March 23rd. Put Yourself in These Individuals that Were Assaulted By these DANGEROUS SO CALLED “PROFESSIONAL TRUCK DRIVERS”...then ask yourselves… “what if” this happened to YOUR wife, Mother & child? How are YOU going to Feel the NEXT TIME “YOU” see a Truck or Trailer with “SWIFT” on it ...ESPECIALLY if these two individuals are NOT STOPPED and Made to take SOME SORT of Responsibility & Justice? HOW MANY OTHERs ACROSS the GREAT USA have been ASSAULTED, RUN OFF THE ROAD OR WORSE at the HANDS or at THE WHEELS OF THIS LETHAL WEAPON?

SWIFT being they “Supposedly” SOLD this trailer that is STILL Painted PURDY as can be with their LOGO ALL OVER IT...that it is NOT THEIR responsibility...BUT Where DO YOU STAND? Will YOU HELP PROTECT OUR HIGHWAYS? Will YOU HELP FIND THESE 2 HORRIBLE DRIVERS THAT ARE OUT THERE BEING TERRORISTS ON OUR SOIL AGAINST INNOCENT PEOPLE?


WERE DO YOU STAND ON HIGHWAY TRANSPORTATION & SAFETY?

NO Sir, I DO NOT...YOU have Far too Many things to watch out FOR...HOWEVER...SHOULD YOU HAPPEN to See a SWIFT trailer With Nevada Plates and the Drivers are Acting Aggressive, Dangerous and down right Unsafe...I Would Hope You Might recall this Posts and possibly take a Stand for the GOOD Drivers out there that DO Not Deserve this type of reputation nor Does anyone need to be Hurt or Killed by Driver's like these. That is All I am trying to Say. Even IF Swift Sold that Trailer...there is a Paper trail...they COULD have put forth a bit of effort into finding out whom they sold it to and at least turned that over to if anyone the DOT. NoNe of us NEED Dangerous Drivers such as these out there.
