Considering adding a Steinbauer chip to our freightliner glider for increased power, but mainly torque. Getting 6 mpg right now,... Any info you can add regarding MPG and performance is appreciated.
Any info on Steinbauer computer and MPG?

My understanding is they just modify signals from sensors to the ecm to fool it into making more power. There are better ways to go. But that talk is not allowed here.
-
They do NOT, in fact, modify signals to the ECM. They install in-line with the injector harness, adding injector duration above 65% engine load.
-
So they are modifying signals out bound. There are still better ways.

The off limit discussions are not limited to deletes but emission modifications. They (emission regulated engines) began in the early 90s. I doubt your going to put a motor in that old.
It's not that I like the no emission talk but... It's their forum they get to make the rules. With the crazy overreaching power of the federal government I don't blame them.Straight Stacks Thanks this. -

We run stinebauer's on both our trucks. One in our C12 and it picked up a full mpg on average. The other on my truck with a Mercedes and I picked up about 1/2 a mpg. We haul loaded one way then empty back the C12 averages about 7mpg, I get about 6.5. Both tucks have noticeable power increase as well.
