I've noticed over the last few yrs training and safety with companies have gotten worse.Companies are having a tougher time hiring drivers did to the the laws and insurance. So companies give drivers chance after chance unless it's something catastrophic.

And a man lost his life , Patty. For 37 cents a mile . And it's just another metric

For some reason....my BS meter is pegging! You dance around any specific answer...then lace into a different point....did you slip by that psychologist by chance? I checked your posts...all you do is criticize and offer your opinion, usually negative or touting your "personal inspection"....but you need to ask if anyone has done the "Blue Hound" or whatever that new "uber trucking" group .... yet with your expertise and knowledge of this industry you can't see that what they offer can't be done the way they describe it on their web page. Amazing you didn't see this "little problem".....I'll let you figure out what I saw in one minute.

I am farthest person on the board to be a "save Swift" groupie....I get irritated when people that use truck stop coffee counter gossip, or internet babble become something attributed to fact. Even if you are in your 40's...still not long enough to remember "how it used to be"....one year on a truck with a trainer"....union BS gossip...check your sources!

Like I said....my BS meter is pegging max load!

Chatting about topics is about opinions . Don't know where you get the negative part . As far as blue blood hound it's gossip . Who's done it ? Good or bad ,? I'm always interested in information and new business models . Thank you for the note

They say that Swift is bad as far as training. I can remember back in the day with CRST. Train a student 6 weeks. Then after training they place a student with a another student that had 6 weeks and send them on their way. CRE, I have seen OTR trainers with 2 students in the truck. Someone please explain that do me. And yes, with Swift, you can have 6 months experience and become a trainer. Is it right, oh HE(( no. Otter, I agree with you as far as the, ummm, foreign. I get scared whenever I see a Volvo that is out of the Chicago burbs, and as far as parking in fuel islands, I have seen it all. One of the worst offenders that I have seen, FEDEX. I will be the first to admit that in my going on 6 years with Swift, I have seen some of the worst as far as trainers, and some of the best.

When that one student got off my truck after 100 hours, it was PHX that placed him with another trainer. His Driver Services leader in Columbus wanted him off my truck. My DM wanted him off my truck, but PHX, let him train more. As far as also gossip. I had to attend another class as far as training and while I was sitting there, 2 students made this comment, that they heard from a cousin that it was not best to get a O/O as a mentor because they only care about the miles, and right then the safety director gave me this look, so bite my tongue. Then she said something. Then after the class one student walked up to me and asked if I would be his mentor, and all that I could do, shake me head and walk away.

I remember when going through trainer orientation and I came so close to walking out when I heard what they were expecting. One that got me, if running team at the time and you are on your 10 and you arrive at the customer or a truck stop, you were supposed to get up and make sure that you student knew what they were doing and help them still backup. Just could not fathom that one.

I don't doubt you at all,im sure size has pariallity to do with the attention Swift receives, but how do you explain the numoruous accidents Swift has?I'm not singling swift out because many companies have accidents When does FMCSA say enough is enough and pin point the problem rather then implementing more laws that aren't working.Yes vleterans have accidents but not even close to as many as starter companies have and getting worse

Patty, compare Swift with Schneider, and see who according to stats now is worse. Then think, how much attention does Swift get compared to them.

I see Swift worse and because most the accidents done by newbies I see their training isn't intense enough starting with their school.
