With an older truck? I'm thinking about just getting out, I really don't want to have some stupid electronic babysitter, and really not sure that I want to drive an old truck either.

Does the new Elog mandate apply to Class 8 trucks only? Or does it apply to any truck/trailer that requires a CDL and meets the HOS requirements to run a logbook?

Pick up the 379 this summer,.. spend the next year getting it reliable and how I want it to be.
I dont want to work for someone else anymore. The only other thing I know how to do is construction,.. and I hate dealing with supers and company owners who all want something for nothing.
Making enough money doing this where I should be able to put enough cash away and retire by the time I hit 60.

From what I've heard the eld mandate is based on the year of the engine. So you get a new glider with everything new and drop in a 99 or older engine.

I'm waiting to see where things go but all I can say right now is I'll be trucking until further notice. -
Isn't it only for 94 and older engines?

It's 1999 and older

99 and older is what I heard jj Keller say on road dog.
