I'm still hazy about the details of that. My carrier has 2 gliders,.. both have 12.7 detroits but both are registered as 2012's. If I knew for certain I could buy a new glider and it would be registered as,.. say a 1998,.. I would go buy one now. I need to call around and find out. I havent looked into that avenue in detail yet. All I know is that I have Peterbilt fever and dont want to get stuck with an ELD in my truck.

Sorry, interrupting with the thread topic here... I feel like I haven't done a heavy load in a while, this one is right around 137k-139k gross, both tandems (drives and pup) are right maxed.

This is the heaviest I've ever done.

Had to move the machine after scaling,.. too heavy on the drives. This was with a 9 axle set up.

You guys can keep all that. I'll stick with my little baby 5 axle loads. Grossing 58k is always a nice way to cruise.

The way it's worded I would not be surprised if they will be required in the future.

Nothing wrong with going older. I went from an 06 to a 99. No regrets at all. But I'm an anomaly to the rule!!!

My understanding is the 99 and older engines don't have the electronics needed to run an eld. I'm sure some ahole will figure out a way around it though.
