I hear good things about Jim Palmer and Wil Trans and wanted to find out more about them.
Here is what i know: They haul for Prime and follow their training program.
Today I talked to a recruiter and she told me that you either run midwest to west or midwest to east. Since I live in MA the latter would make sense for me but i would like to go west as well.
Pay plan seems good as well.
Any comments?

If you live in the East then WilTrans is the one you want. Their office is in Springfield Missouri instead of Palmer which is in Montana.
firemedic2816 Thanks this. -
Yikes. They start you at 40 cpm. Just your typical OTR mill.

Palmer don't have automatic trucks. Just 10-speeds. Just a heads up if that matters. They also make you sign a contract for training if you are new. If you have experience already you don't. They treat their drivers well though and got nice trucks/facilities. I'm not with them but they were one of the companies I too was considering.

I read Carolina Logistics does coast to coast turns, but don't know much about the company otherwise. Their CDL school is cheap though. -
I was looking at their training program as well. Even though I live in the east I would rather go to the Jim Palmer side and do Midwest-West Coast running. Does anybody know if they send all the Palmer trainees to Missoula or Springfield depending on where you live?

Call and talk to Ellen Ward.
They will probably send you to MO for training.
What state do you live in?roadpilot81 Thanks this. -
I would think that they will send you to the company thT has the best chance of getting you home for your time off.

I spoke to them today again to confirm they would hire me out of Alaska and told me I would go to Missoula for orientation and 20k team miles before released into a truck.
whitewings and Bumper Thank this.
