    Detroit = less expensive

    If buying Volvo get a Cummins good engines, a little more expensive to fix, Caterpillar = THE BEST. But EXPENSIVE to fix......2007 and before = No DEF or DPF......EGR can be handled.....Volvo, Mack are a crapshoot, can be great engines, but expensive to fix and not many mechanics work on them......

    Buy a 2008 and newer truck at your own risk....If 2007 make dammed sure it's not a DPF engine as the engines built later in 2007 have DPF.....

    Do this at your own peril. DEF and/or DPF = EXPENSIVE, FREQUENT BREAKDOWNS.... last warning.....read all over this forum and you'll get similar advice....Kiswani bought 10 Cascade's...09's at any point in time 3 are in the shop and 2 are parked all broken down.... can't be clearer than this....

    Extended warranty is worthless, i bought one, they only pay what they know won't likely break...

    you should try jkc trucking in summit. that's where all the guys at my co. are buying. there's like 13 of them that were brought from that place that work for us. i guess its working. pretty solid trucks imo. 2007 volvo's.

    Once I had the dpf fixed permanently, I haven't had a single regen issue..........i wouldn't hesitate to buy an 09-10 dpf truck Detroit our Cummins. If you get the issue taken care of, they run just like the old days with better fuel mileage.
