    Cause you don't pay the bills. New trucks, big company, big payment....company driver, it breaks, bring it in, they fix, warranty pays, company paid breakdown or jump in another truck......

    Owner operator, used truck, no warranty..,,,it breaks, you pay, you don't work (no pay +no revenue), payments still have to be made ( for truck and home)....,,

    Truck paper and Craigslist are your friend.....if you need to finance, go to a buy here/pay here lot (about the only ones who will finance an old truck) or get a personal loan at a bank....,..

    First gen DPF's and first gen DEF's across the spectrum are bad. My '09 Mack had DPF only, every 100K there was a problem with it, in 570K it was in the shop probably 7 times for DPF/EGR issues. Knock on wood, my '15 has only been in twice for DEF/DPF issues (although it is going if for a third time for the samething in 4 weeks).

    sell you my 06 freightliner mid roof, less than 10k on brake drums for 25k coming out of a complete engine rebuilt including turbo next week

    I mean if the truck i buy has 500k i assume most issues will be already worked out. Esp if i get a warranty on the dpf

    Most 3rd party extended warranties won't cover dpf/def problems. Maybe a factory one will, but don't quote me.
