I was excited and a little nervous since it was my first time.

I had to find a place to break it, take one trailer to Home Depot , comeback pick up the other trailer and continue with my route.

It was much easier than what I thought, BUT... I have to say,
driving on the highway is cool, but in the city, it's a whole different animal. A little more stressful. I couldn't wait to arrive to my destination and break the trailers.

All in all, I enjoyed the experience. Definitely something that will look nice on my resume once I decide to leave my current company.

Don't be scared in the city with doubles... You don't have to turn as wide as you would with a 53... The 2nd box will do exactly the same as the first box did... Just make sure you don't get caught in a situation where you gotta back up then your screwed.... That does happen to guys where they gotta break a set down so they could get turned around...

Learning how to hook/break them can be the difficult part...

Sounds like your doing fine man...

    Best of luck

Steer gently. The "crack the whip" effect will bite you if you don't.

When I first started driving I asked an old timer if pulling doubles made him nervous. His reply - "Son, I never look behind me..."

    He was joking, of course.

That's exactly what makes me nervous

I prefer to make wider turns and perhaps take another lane if necessary , than stop traffic for an hour or two

They turn easier than a 53 footer, just go slow and easy. I saw the aftermath when a guy hit a curb with his rear pup. Freight on the side of the road isn't a good thing, lol. I think you have the right attitude, Driver. You'll do just fine.

Thanks bro. They gave me another set today. I feel like each time it gets easier. Just a matter of getting the experience and being a little extra careful, I guess.

Heavy trailer on the front, lighter in the back , right ?

I had to pull the heavy one last today because I needed a trailer with lift gate for my route. I just drove slow to my first stop and everything was fine.

    Badmon and Pintlehook Thank this.
