One of the trucks decided to lay down yesterday (#4 piston we think). It did have some blow by and was burning some oil, so not totally unexpected. It's in a quad axle dump and is fairly under powered @ 350hp, so that brings me to what all would be needed to increase it to around 500ish hp.
Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.
I have 3 options as I see it
1. Rebuild the current engine
2. Buy a 500 hp N14 that needs to be rebuilt and rebuild it
3. Put in a rebuilt Detroit
1994 N14 350 HP to 500ish HP, what's needed?

First things first check your trans and rear ends to see how much power they can take. Then I would copy what the factory did in higher horsepower n14s to get the power you want.

On the 2nd portion, that's what I'm looking for.

Rebuild and reflash the computer with whatever power you want. Call the guys at PDQ, they can set you up.
Trans,Clutch, driveline & Rears must support what you're wanting.
What trans and model??
Rears??Dominick253 Thanks this. -
They've all been replaced over the years and that isn't an issue. I appreciate it being pointed out though.

Basically you need to compare your cpl to a 500. May not have to change much other than ecm file.

I can make it put out the power with just program in ecu but will need rebuilt with parts from 500hp would be the best.

There is no way you are going from 350 to 500 hp without hard parts. You can expect at least injectors, but I would expect also a turbo and possibly a cam shaft. I would look for the engine you want out of another truck and rebuild it.
