Well, I'm the better part of a week late picking up The Hot Chick. Gonna make an unauthorized stop at the yard in Kernersville NC tomorrow and get her on the freaking truck. Then deliver this load in Winchester VA, then back to Kernersville to get a load Friday that's headed to Hickory and delivers Monday.

Dispatch: Okay, this works for your home time right?

Me: ...I'm a week late and this is the third time.

Dispatch: Yeah but this is the only load I could find today that gets you to Hickory. So this works, right?

Me: I'll make it work.

Had to cancel plans to visit my parents. My father (full disabled veteran-- stroke victim, unable to speak, paraplegic) wept.

Good news is Phredd pulled some strings and I've finally got a green light at Holland. Doctor's appointment May 20, then cleaning out the truck and boarding the train to Fargo. Done deal.

 

Same here, thanks much. No jury in the universe would convict me of not trying to make it work here. I can take a lot of BS, but even my prodigious capacity has been exceeded. And that's saying a lot. I even outlasted a bunch of followers (former) on this thread. Might just be a crap dispatcher but I just don't care any more.

I gotta scratch my toe.
