Made the same mistake heading out to Arizona this week. It's been working out well, but nothing materialized out here this week. Got excited about a load back to Wilmer for $1.35 from Phoenix. Showed up while refreshing the app, clicked on it to assign it, and somebody beat me to it, LOL.

Still going to Texas for Monday, but now it will be via Vegas, and then Utah.

Forgot to throw my chains in the truck again, so lost out on a good load going from Vegas to Denver.

    Next week will be better!

Try talking with a local o/o and see if you can get the basics, also study the load securement handbook and there's always YouTube

FW...the tarping alone would drive me nuts...some guys spend hours tarping and taking them back off...plus it seems like almost refer work stand in line for hours to get a coil of steel or a tractor put on...etc. not worth it in my book.

It's all about the $. I know a guy that hauls oversize farm equipment. Two loads a week and grosses in 4 days what I do in 6. Doesn't matter how long the job takes, but how much can you profit for x days getting the job done.

If you can make 4k in a week and drive half of what I'm driving now.. If that's not worth I don't know what is. And there aren't any waiting in line in FB like reefer and there aren't any appts for the most part...

Mercer is cool I worked there but on the van side. It's a hard system to crack and I believe there is a buddy system there eventhough people say they aren't. The guys there with the big nice trucks aren't getting the loads that the guys who just walking in the door getting...it's no way..LS system is like here Choice.. Every man for himself and that's more easy to get a hang of then Mercer..
