I am making my regular weekly delivery to an Arkansas Walmart. I do not go to the docks like most truckers do at Walmart, instead I always go to the tire center where I unload tires. I back up to the usual bay door like I had done probably fifty times before, I did not suspect a thing.
I climb out of the cab to go unload but strangely notice there is no one there working on any cars. I am used to this though, a lot of times when those Walmart guys see me pulling up they go and hide, because unloading tires means extra work for them.
I walk inside the TLE to the counter. Some video was playing in the waiting room but there were no customers in there, and no staff either. This was around 10 am so definitely a little odd, especially for this particular store.
I walk on into the store. Lights were on, music was playing, the television floor models were turned on, but no one was around. No kids screaming and no one in sight. Really spooky like, know what I mean?
Now I head to the back room through the door that says "associates only" to where all the managers and staff hides out. A lot of times I have to go back here to raise hell when the tire guys are dragging their feet to get me unloaded, so I knew the layout, every Walmart is nearly identical when it comes to the backroom. You can probably guess what I saw though, still nothing.
A strange feeling was coming upon me, like a chill ruuning up my spine. This was like being in one of those movies where you are the last person on earth and get to go looting the big old stores for everything you want. I had my truck and 53 foot trailer outside ready to haul off everything I would ever need and then bug on out to the Ozarks. Took a moment to get over the awe of the whole situation.
Then all that got shattered to pieces. I am walking though the store again back towards my truck when I see a cop and some manager walking towards me, saying there had been some bomb threat and wanting to see my id and all. The officer wanted to see some proof of Walmart name tag but I told him I do not work here I am just delivering tires. I hand him my bol but he has no idea what that is. Store manager tells him it is ok and they let me go. When I gotget back to the tire center I see a guy there locking the place up.
Guess I had gotten there right after everyone had been evacuated but right before they could secure anything. What luck, here I had over 20 stops to make and some jackas terrorist wannabe goes and holds me up until the place reopens again a couple hours later. My boss understood, no problem there. But I was losing out on money I could have been making. You would think I would be used to having to wait by now.
Though if some apocalypse type situation ever did happen, where exactly would the ideal place to go in a truck be?
Thought it was the end of the world

Got a few AR's, and several thousand rounds of ammo, so maybe just stay here, and see what happens. -
I'm guessing the tire guys called in the bomb threat so they wouldn't have to unload you.bottomdumpin, Chewy352, canviskiller and 13 others Thank this. -

I'm surprised the threat wasn't called in at a Target, instead of Wal-Mart.
