They are a mega carriers. Megas tend to not be aa good as smaller companies. As with any company in any sector they have their pluses and minuses.

My experience with them 8 years ago.
Any time off more than 3 days you get slip seated. They had zero respect for home time. They will not dead head east. If you live in the Northeast that means bringing a load past your house (regardless of when you needed to get home) even if the last load dropped 90 miles west of home.
The pay is ok, but they pay short miles. Raises are none existent, and the runs are mostly short haul.
I went to Barr Nunn after 6 months of trying to make it work at Heartland. I've been at Barr Bunn now 8 years making $71K as a regional driver that stays out occasionally.Toomanybikes, Canned Spam and Rocknroller4 Thank this. -

Idk how well home time really is but my first experience already sucked. I asked to be home Friday because I had an appt that morning and they are not going to be able to get me home until Sunday. Mind you im on the regional account and im supposed to be home weekley any way. How convenient now I had to reschedule and see if they can get me home on time now Thursday.
They only perk is the APU and inverter but it is on a weak international. I believe they do have automatics if yoh want one but i have a stick. The dispatchers are friendly and they do make sure you are alright if you get sick or they can't get up with you. But if you want lots of miles this ain't it. You just have to weight your own options but for me this company has more flaws the benefits.Rocknroller4 Thanks this. -
Hello southerbelle21,you said your on the southeast regional would you be able to tell me what's your average miles a week I'm suppose to start next week thank you

They don't like paying for toll roads...when ever possible

I have a friend who had trouble getting hired anywhere. Heartland hired him out of Florida, and he IS appreciative, but his miles are low, and so is his paycheck, even at 49 cents/mile.
