We had a "discussion" a while back about air ride equalizing axles. Today I had a 400 Komatsu on our scale and I was right at 60,000 on the trailer. I took this picture with the rear bridge level,
I was 59,660 on the tri with 19,980 on the third axle. I raised the neck up a few inches and it made the rear axle 20,760 so by raising the neck I moved 780 pounds to the rear axle, I didn't weigh the front one but it would be lite. Here's a picture with the rear bridge out of level,
It's a little hard to see from these pictures but if you look at the gaps between the top beam flange and the tires you can see the difference between the two pictures. The front is about 2" higher in the second picture. This trailer was rebushed a year and a half ago and is in good shape.
For the record I tried to take a picture of the readout, this is what it looked like to my camera I could read it plain as day but in the camera it was "rolling" is the only way I can describe it.nwharry, skootertrashr6, PeteyFixAll and 1 other person Thank this. -
Left the house yesterday afternoon and came out to Nebraska City and loaded this up at a Jobsite, was told not be there until 1pm to load. Get there at 12:30 and no one around, check vin, flip my axle, then a truck from
Another company pulls in to get the other dump. Talk to the driver and find out they wanted me there at 1 so could help supervise this driver as this was his 1st load solo, had a trainer for 2 weeks prior an did dry can before that. Otherwise I could have loaded this morning and been a few miles down the road. 6.5 hours later I head to to tuck stop. Earned my dinner tonight.Macneil, Pipe 40 and johndeere4020 Thank this. -
