I heard knight already fixed the issue by locking all doors to the dispatchers and other offices unless you have an access card. So the nuts who can't handle getting fired won't do that again hopefully. I don't drive for knight but they were on my list of companies to start with.

That ain't gonna do anything. Since they are always hiring they have the front door open.

Talked to my old terminal manager today, he said he is not planning to change anything. He is there to help and have open communication with his drivers. To him thats all that has to be said.

Of course. He can keep misappropriating pay checks - act like an ahole - keep drivers in trucks with idle shutdown when it's 103 degrees in Phx or 20 degrees in the cold.

Knight sure has it figured out

This terminal mgr Mike wasn't your typical terminal mgr...he went above and beyond to take care of his drivers..he even went as far as fighting Phoenix to get things done for his drivers...

OverDrive "A Watchman on the Walls"

Having grown up in a rural area around hunting, guns, gun safety & responsibility, I am pro-2nd Amendment.

But as a trucker where guns were not allowed in trucks, I can see the point (altho have had friends mugged and robbed in L. A. w/o any defense but a tire thumper or mace, which is illegal to take over into Canada!). Truckers are told to give up anything including their truck to appease the thieves, but in this day & age of 'leave no witnesses behind,' even then they could be snuffed out!

And ALL truckers who have driven the 48 in strange cities, etc., around the country, have had 'reason for road rage' even when doing everything right! Many ppl (4-wheelers) out there these days are rude and dont understand big trucks, even when properly taking their right-of-way!

I hate to say this, but this is the way of this country, blame it on stress, workplace unfairness, and even violence in most new movies these days--this is the new norm..

Those access cards aren't going to be of much help in the parking lot if someone decides to employ the Oswald/Whitman method.

When I was a night dispatcher, I get a QC message when I started my shift on the computer that said "I am headed your way. I am going to find you and I am gonna kill you"....dude thought I was his day dm. Needless to say, I checked his truck's latitude and longitude for a few days. He did get fired over that, but man was I jumpy anytime a dri...ver showed up and wanted in the building at night. I kept trying to get management to implement a better system to allow drivers in than just flashing an ID badge. Unfortunately, sometimes it takes real not hypothetical scenarios to implement changes.

That's the problem anytime you have a threat to a company employee or company it's domestic terrorism and should be reported. I was at the Katy terminal that day and after it happened a shop manager told me and my orientation group the guy threatened to kill him. They let it go and what happened last Wednesday could have been stopped
