Yes it is. There are way too many people that drive down the road brain dead thinking the truck is someone else's responsibility.

Hate their life. Hate the job. Hate everything about trucking. And they look, dress, smell and behave accordingly.

But not a driver with pride in that ride. He's the cure to what ails the industry.

I used to occasionally drive a T800 and remember the lane spacing being an issue if you were used to a Volvo or Cascadia. I'd find myself riding the zipper line on the driver side for the first hundred miles or so until i got used to going down the road in the "middle" of the lane.

I don't care if you're in a'95 FLD, if it's clean, polished and your gear is neatly stowed, your load is properly secured and neatly tarped, you qualify in my book.

It helps if you know how run too.......

I trained in a well cared for FLD. I didn't see anything wrong with it.

image.jpeg I just bought this 379 a couple of months ago. After driving a Columbia for 5 years, I can tell you it's been a pain backing into tight places but it's getting easier. It's got a short wheelbase so turning corners is about the same as my Freightliner

It's all relative to what you're used to. This was at one of my drops in CT the other day. Back in off the road.
