The wise man doesn't have all the answers. He knows where to find the answers. Big difference.

    Whoa, wait a minute.

As long as you or anyone else complies with the rules of our site, you are welcome here.

I will not tolerate anyone getting beat up on because they are inexperienced and chose to come here for information. I trust this is well understood by everyone here.

The employees of the the company that owns the pile driving equipment...

Saying things like whoever said I'm on a public road, whoever said it's construction workers, saying someone is a broker then changing your story is silly. It just raises the bs flag that so many others who have come and gone have raised. So in short cut the bs and you will get all the help you will need here.

I did a little looking around on YouTube and there are many videos that show how to use a chain binder. Check them out.

I saw this in the Binghamton NY TA. A T-62 MBT. It's smaller than I thought it would be.

@Hype6477 that's what you do with extra strap.

Trial by fire is something I'm very familiar with in most aspects of my life. Usually end up getting burned pretty good at least once before things all get figured out.

If you ask a question, I promise you the good people on here will give you an answer.
But if we see a half *** job and the attitude to go along with it not so much.
No one was born with the answers. They learned it by training, our elders or trial and error. Look at every open deck that passes you by. Loading or at a truck stop. How did they do it? Download or ask your carrier for the fmcsa load securement handbook. And last but not least use COMMON SENSE.
I kind of agree with @Lastkidpicked. If a driver doesn't know how to operate a chain binder and doesn't seem to want to learn in the first place. Who's more negligent, the carrier that vetted him or the himself.

It's impossible for it to vibrate loose. The blade prevents it from making a full revolution. 99% of the time when your binder is hooked to your trailer and at roughly 45 degrees, it can't make a full revolution (or at least how I do it)

The green one is the bible. The little orange one is written in plainer English.

sorry i thought it just was easier to omit things not really relevant to the story. So I work for company A company A gets a lot of work from company B. If company A has too much work and not enough trucks they call me. ( See how it was easier to say broker, cause I still pay him a percentage, (( broker fee)) but it's not like the normal broker you guys/ girls deal with) Company A and B both have drivers and equipment to move and secure heavy equipment / machinery (So why did Company B ask Company A to move it in the first place sure beats the heck out of me). Anyways so Company A calls me out I show up I say help they say basically figure it out so I do my best. I move this hammer from one end of the job site to another and they sign me out I get my hour guarantee of X even tho it only took me like W. It was easy money too easy actually. So if I moved this on site why did I have an escort cause, I didn't know where they wanted it (to me it was cool I felt like one of you guys going down the highway but I was on a dirt road). And that ladies and gentlemen is how I got this load. If I get called to move it back when they are done with it I will be shocked. But I will go get some binders and chains just in case. My issue with chains was the binders would vibrate lose. The chains would be missing hooks so it was a pain to secure the lose / extra piece of chain. It messed up the fender of the truck I was driving. (My truck was in the shop so I was in Company A's truck) Removing chain in the rain, cold weather, or snow also bites. So another driver saw me struggling and suggested I switch to strap ( I guess that was easier then helping me
lol) so I did and he was right it is easier. No issues till last night.
