In the southeast Con-way was the worst national LTL company to work for. They didn't pay, had a terrible atmosphere. I got that from former employees. They had some shops going union the last couple of years, so they gave big across the board raises to try to stop it. I think that's why they got sold. The old Consolidated Freight ownership had a hand in Con-way. Now I'm reading that XPO is extremely anti-labor and is making life hard, causing a lot of uncertainty. I wouldn't want to hire there unless I had to.

16 years at Conway now xpo for me. A lot of what has been posted is not true. We recieved a raise this year, as well as a decent bonus check. As for getting walked out if you give notice, it's a two way street. Company has a no notice policy.
Would I start with xpo ltl now? All depends on the terminal your looking at. Some areas are very slow. Others are desperate for drivers. Lots of drivers doing walk abouts at other terminals too.
Find out about your terminal. Overtime has been cut, nothing new. We don't pull freight that doesn't make us money. Ask any questions. I'll give you the honest truth. No blowing smoke up your butt.
FYI, I'm on linehaul, average 95k a year, home daily off weekends.KriegHund, Giuseppe Ventolucci and bigmotor1212 Thank this. -
Could you PM any US terminals in the west that are desperate, please? I'd like to get started as a driver, would like to be company-trained, have read positive things about their training, not that XPO will do the same as Conway.

I worked for Conway Truckload and Freight a couple years prior to the sale to XPO... Different strokes for different folks. I thought Conway Truckload was a terrible I didn't last but a couple of months. I hear now they have driver facing cameras also.
The 2 week notice thing mentioned above is true... The day you tell them that you are putting in your 2 week notice is your last day lol...
Whoever mentioned that you basically come off the street and make $100k is wrong... It takes years to get to that level.... You can make decent money as a new hire but not $100k lol... As a new hire you will be more of a dock worker than a driver until you climb up the seniority ladder.snowlauncher, Giuseppe Ventolucci and upnorthwpg Thank this. -

I read in various posts that jobs are not always advertised. The cameras kill it for me anyway.
