Your legal. Run with it. But if you have nothing to do with about 20 minutes, slide the fifth wheel back 2 holes, then the trailer tandem up 2 holes. Me? My 20 minutes is more important to me then that weight issue you, don't, have.

Grab some WD 40 or whatever it's called. Maybe that will help the pins? What do you all use by the way to check weights in each state? Is it all in the Fed regulations book?

It's in the back of the motor carrier atlas. The weight limits are a state regulation, not a federal regulation. When I first started driving back in 1978, there were 3 states in the country that didn't change to 80k,
Illinois, Arkansas and Mississippi. They stayed at 73,280lbs until 1984.

Congrates!!! Yes, those first run jitters are no fun... Get there early and scope it all out. Then take your 10 and tackle the week ahead of you.

I intend to drive over to the address the day before and get a good look. Figure out how to get in there before the day of delivery.

Sounds like a solid plan you have there!!!

Also, if it's a cooler to a Publix, many stores down there are renovating their stores... So it might be just a normal bump the dock and not new construction, which can be a bit more fun.

You can use a maps app (Apple or Google) to get a sky view of the location too. Might be able to tell the general setup from that too. But you probably already know/do that.

It's publix but not the usual coolers. Ive been to a new store delivery which was still under construction and that was a nightmare.

Hopefully this is just a remodel and the dock isn't too challenging though at this point all backing is a challenge.

Haven't checked google maps yet but will do.

    MidWest_MacDaddy Thanks this.

Hey everybody, I just wanted to drop by and introduce myself. First off, I wanted to say thanks to all of the posters here on this thread and others. Your experiences have greatly helped me as I have been on this journey of a mid life career change. I will be joining Abilene sometime in the next month or so. Today completed my drug/alcohol/physical and got my med card. Now just waiting to wrap things up at my current job and pick an orientation date. Currently I am a police officer with Chesterfield County Police in Virginia and have been since 2007. For a variety of reasons its time for a career change and to do something new. I have spent many months researching this career and talking with the wife and we are both on board and excited for this change. I should be going to orientation sometime around the end of the month. Again, many thanks and looking forward to coming on board and meeting y'all.
