You were being funny I know but but you're close.

The DOT men like to do a walk around while I clear customs sometimes. Keeping the truck in gear keeps your foot off the brake pedal while you're sitting there at the booth. Makes it so Barney can't see a brake light out or hear an air leak. .

Nah, that's way too kissy-kissy! Pull up to the booth, tell 'em " I'll have a Big Mac, Super size fries & a chocolate shake, and be quick about it, I'm in a hurry!":p

Well, you're likely a much more intelligent guy than I am!:D

Sadly I like the long trips and crossing Canada is boring as all #### since from southern ontario to the parries has one road in northern ontario.

Just as the air brakes were mentioned, one occasion happened about a year ago.
I pulled up to the booth in Windsor and I don't know why, I simply pulled the brakes. Never did this in seven years before.
A mid fourty-ish women opened the window and I guess she had her first orgasm in her life that day. She threw all kinds of threads at me. I just tried to stay friendly and apologized, which drove her even more nuts. After she was done with her books, she gave me my ID and paperwork back, no secondary inspection or truck search.
Puhh, I'm never gonna pull the brakes again, that's for sure.

My truck wouldn't start unless the brakes were pulled.

    It was weird.

Least that's what I told the guy as I struggled to get it started releasing and setting them 3 or 4 times.

Always did it to the same guy going to Alberta. Think he actually believed me xD.

After reading all this malarkey, I'm definitely never taking a truck over the border. They'll know about my military ID as soon as they run their check, and then I'll be held as a spy.....lol
