Under certain circumstances the astatic 636 will sound better than the road king 56 because the audio chain has been butchered and the lower output level of the astatic 636 sometimes results in less distortion in circumstances where the radio has been butchered. On a stock radio the road king 56 will always sound better.
(Unless it the new Chinese version marked @2000 ohms)

Why do companies always have to mess with success? I had a Blueparrot B250XT headset that I loved the sound quality. I left it in my car at home one time so I just bought another, figuring I could leave my old one in the car and have one for the truck.
The new one I bought was a version 3.0 and the sound quality was horrible. It was like comparing surround sound to a tin can and a string.
I ended up sending that one back to the company and had them send me a refurbished version 2.4 with a new battery. I told them I wasn't very happy with how they had cheapened up the new ones. -
You can't really blame Telex since they aren't the ones that made the changes. Das in Pennsylvania purchased the Turner name and once they got the name they had to come up with some Chinese companies to subcontract building the parts for them

Is the Stryker mic noise cancelling?

I get real good reports using my real RK56 and my Ranger mic with my 955.
darthanubis and Ougigoug Thank this. -
Look like my 2 old RK56 worth gold now...
Diesel Dave and rabbiporkchop Thank this. -
Just out of curiosity sake, I used my Magnum S-6 which has dual mic inputs front and side to test it again. (If you remember, the Magnum and original 400 series Stryker were direct cousins) I doubt that is true today with the digital... but it was worth a try for any of the audio impedance conscious. <--- I have no idea what that means but I'm reading and learning! Unanimous agreement, the RK56 was better.
And just to pat myself on the back, rather I mean my radio tech's back, Hahaha. I got the best compliment I think I've ever received... The guy said when I first talked he looked at his passenger seat, then back to his bunk, to see who was talking to him. Freaked him out, says he never heard a base station so clear. I had a smile that lasted all day after that compliment!Evvy Thomas, darthanubis, rabbiporkchop and 1 other person Thank this. -
Compliments like that are an everyday occurrence every time I key up .
I kind of got used to it. -
The guys with trashy sounding radios or over modulated and muffled sounding radios often tell me my radio sounds like a stock radio and that I should take it to their technician to make it louder.
What they don't understand is that if I take their advice it will cut 75% of my distance out of my performanceTheDude1969, darthanubis and slim6596 Thank this.
