Just spoke with the recruiter, they said no percentage lanes, only 1.00 a mile loaded .91 empty plus fuel surcharge both loaded and empty. So idk.

The Chicago and Denver short haul used to pay percentage. Dart has had 32 different pay packages. Ask another dispatcher or ask contractor relations people.

Gross Income doesn't say much when you're a L/O or a O/O. Put out the take Home so we can then deduct 25-33+% for Taxes. One or two good checks doesn't really help much neither. Need a over all Quarter or Year to see if the headaches are worth it all. Last Year I Grossed 62,700 as a Company Driver, no worries, stress or headaches that come with trying to keep ones Head above water.

But it may be good for you as you also stated you have been there a long time and are on a different Contract. Many new people are at the bottom, working their way up and will most likely not make it in a L/O contract. Maybe 2% actually make it good? And that is IF they also Train some Stranger in their Home.

If that was a Month take Home as I just reread, then that's not to good for an average take Home pay. A Company Driver can make that, or more.

You show me a company driver that can take home 5800.00 plus another 1200.00 in training pay which is not reflected and paid separately from Dartco, plus I get an additional .05 CPM residual off of past students, that are here still after one year... So chew on that a while, and I don't mind training some one has to do it

If you like Training, that's fine. It's not for most is all I was saying. And by the way, taking Home $5,800/mn isn't a big achievement in of it's self. I've posted checks on here as a Company Driver that were $1652, $1638, $1558 and $2309. That's four checks in same Month totaling $7,157, without Training. CHEW ON THAT! You only had one good week out of those five weeks shown. If you're aren't getting paid for every mile you drive and that of which your Student drivers, you're under paid big time! Given what you claimed to have made last year, you wouldn't have made anymore than I did if you took away the Training Pay and .05cpm residual pay.

I just hate seeing most Driver undervalue their time out on the road. What most people think is great pay isn't really all that good in the end. Given what a O/O and L/O's have to endure, it's a crying shame that you Guys don't take Home a lot more. I O/O and L/O should make at least 20% more than a Company Driver. It just isn't the case these days, yourself included.

But if you think you're "Killing it big time", then by all means keeping do what you think makes you happy. Just don't be all bent out of shape when people like me saying, "That's not much Pay". Your $81,000 in pay isn't any more that the average Trainer at Stevens, Swift or Werner make that are also L/O's. The pay isn't all that great with what you have to go through, toss on Training too and it's even worse. I'll stick with my 60-65K a year Company position and go Home every other weekend and not worry about all the Headaches. I'll even live longer to enjoy it with less stress. Have a safe day.
